| I'm currently working on a social history series for ITV called "Those Were The Days", where we meet people from around the country in order to illustrate some of the more unusual and interesting events that occurred on 5 significant dates in recent British history. I'm developing the episode based around the day Charles and Diana married, 29th July 1981 and the day Sir Lloyd Coxsone organised the "Peace Dance" at Dexter Road's Adventure Playground, Railton Road, Brixton as a way of uniting the community after the devastating riots that took place just weeks earlier. I'm desperately trying to locate photos from the day, or even better footage! I'm in touch with Lloyd who's exploring some personal avenues but the clock's ticking so I'm also on the hunt. We have been along side soul jazz at 100% dynamite events which are now in Nouveau Casino. Plus flex played Jungle at Concorde Atlantique and had NOVAMIX on radio nova. All this in the last three years. music is a mission not a competition, soundbwoy! |
